Tomorrow: Okubo and Harada to Discuss Future of Fighting Games in Roundtable Event

After what seems like a long period of silence, the biggest names in the Japanese fighting game industry will gather on Friday, August 31st to discuss “the past, present, and the future” of their titles.

Notably, both Motohiro Okubo and Katsuhira Harada of Bandai Namco will be there. Although SoulCalibur VI news have not been teased, we might expect to finally hear about the remaining characters from Season 2. The panel welcomes questions from fans, submitted via Twitter with the hashtag #JFGPR. Michael Murray (Tekken producer) and Jiyuna will host the panel and most likely lend translation as needed.

Tune in on July 31st at 5:00 PM PDT / 8:00 PM EST / 2:00 AM UTC +2 (technically August 1st in Europe) either on the Bandai Namco channel on Twitch or via the embedded YouTube stream below.

The panel will also include lead developers and directors from Arc System Works, Arika, Capcom, Koei Tecmo, and SNK.

Other than content, there is official confirmation that a balance patch is in the works, and the team is currently gathering feedback from players regarding bugs and balance changes. Yoshinori Takahashi, director of SoulCalibur VI, has been responding to many Tweets and giving hints on the direction the patch is going to take. The thread below talks about general patch direction, but the director has also responded to a lot of specific questions on his Twitter page.
